Connected

I admit it. I was peeing. No, I couldn't hold it in, I had just drank my weight in Crystal Light and barely made it to the restroom as it was. And don't go blaming little P, he knows not what he does.

But it happened none the less. I left my open laptop on my bed, with my rotten one-year-old sitting next to it---at least until he pushed it off the bed. Then he was no longer sitting "next" to it. Either part of it, if you get what I am saying.

So I mourned the loss of my Dell Inspiron 6000 with the loose, wobbly screen and the missing up and down arrow keys...and the missing J key...oh, and the missing F12 key (all also gone courtesy of little P) and tucked my dear laptop away under the living room couch to await a night when Vinny was not so busy.

And last night, as luck would have it, Vinny came down with a horrible fever. So of course being the nurturing and loving wife that I am I handed him a glass of water, a few Tylenol and jewelers screwdriver and ordered him to get to work fixing my laptop... in a very loving and kind tone of course. And he did.

And so here I sit, tears of gratitude streaming down my face, once again blogging, Facebooking, and generally feeling very connected to the world (probably a little too much). Ready to reach out and feel like there is more to my life than this unwelcoming town. Once again, grateful that Vinny got ill.

Do you watch "How I Met Your Mother"...it's hilarious, and if you do you understand why the word 'connectitude' popped into my head as I read your post. Glad you're back!

Sorry your hubby got sick, but glad your comp is now fixed. It's the wost to be without a computer. At least you weren't sick AND without a computer! We're sick at our house and the comp is all that's keeping me sane!

I just saw that you already saw my post! I'm sorry you have no Twilight friends over there. I will be there around Thanksgiving and will probably go see New Moon (for the 6th time by then??)with the sis-in-laws if you want to join us- I would love it!

Just had to tell you--I just read your comment about falling down the stairs and I laughed so hard that it put me into an uncontrollable fit of coughing. But I hope you didn't get hurt! ;)

Isn't it really crazy how something we see as a trial can actually be a blessing in disguise?
