It's official, I am a human pacifier. Little P was (I stress was) my only binky baby...sigh. He is, however, no longer. In fact, over the course of the last three or four days he has gone from making a face whenever I try to give him the pacifier to literally screaming in anger. Consequently, here it is, just after midnight, and I have spent the better part of an hour nursing and re-nursing and re-re-nursing until he was finally in a deep enough sleep to leave me alone. This cannot lead anywhere good, and I think we all know it.
Parts of me are a bit raw from the last few days, and poor Vinny feels a quite rejected by his son (seeing as there is no part of Vinny that will satisfy). If I get anywhere near P, he starts that "I'm going to starve to death" panting and grunting.
Let's all remember how hard I worked on getting this baby to nurse. Formula nearly killed the poor guy. We spent weeks in the NICU, feeding tubes, bottles, pumping, no dairy, soy formula, baby bowel loops, x-rays... on and on. Well, mission accomplished, this baby is officially a serious nurser, and I feel like I have really conquered something here. But...Oh, how I long for those pacifier days.

I hear you!I am working at training Sam to take a binky. David wouldn't and I am convinced it would have made dealing with the allergies so much easier. Maybe he will be willing to take it back soon. I'll hope for you!
Can I just tell you that I LOVE the binky!!!
Two of my kids were naturals and two of them gave me fits...but I DID prevail! Yes, that's right, I forced two of my kids to take the binky.
Eventually they all LOVE it so much it was hard to break them of it. Taylee would sneak and get "binky fixes" when it was supposed to be strictly for bedtime. Sneaky!
I'd much rather break the binky habit than the thumb or finger habit. I was an avid thumb-sucker and had a REALLY hard time giving it up. That could be partly the reason I pushed binkies so much...naw it was the peace and quiet it gave me in the car, at church and at bed time. Who am I kidding?
