Real Money

I am one of those people who, no matter how rich I may get, will never carry what I call "real money." I haven't seen a real dollar bill in about 7 years. It's not that I don't want to, believe me, I would love to have a wallet so full of cash that it simply will not shut. But somehow, as soon as cash enters my wallet, it leaves. One by one, each little dollar is sniffed out and begged for until there is nothing left. For years now, I have known this is the fate of any cash that entered my possession. I had, however, thought my change was safe.

A few days ago, Karina asked me for a quarter. Because I am a wonderful and giving mother, I immediately skipped over to my wallet, zipped open the change purse, and felt around inside. It did not take me long to realize that I had been robbed. Instead of finding a bunch of change, I found nothing...nothing except the lid from a bottle of Sprite.

I didn't know if I should be upset at Bugsy for his theft or proud of his ingenuity. Either way, I'm keeping the Sprite lid in there. I may be completely out of "real money" but each time I open my change purse I get a good chuckle.

Ditto, of Becky's comment! I don't know if I would have been that magnanimous about it!

Hmmmm, he must not think you're very smart or B is awful at covering his trail... Have you noticed him making any big purchases lately? Love that kid!
