A Few Recent Happenings

As many of you know, it is constantly freezing or re-freezing or re-re-freezing where I live. Spring can't come fast enough if you ask us, but we have found a few things to do inside. Bugsy and I go to an open gym a few mornings a week. I captured him "bull-riding" on our first day there. Proudly, he had done his own hair...a full mohawk. He has also taken up painting (mostly rocks he finds in parking lots), and Karina likes to join in once she gets home from school. On this day, they had made signs on a paper roll, so of course they needed something to hold down the signs...so Bugsy's dinosaurs volunteered to help (well, these 6 did. The other 36 were busy). Although he has known how to do it for a long time, little Paulie finally decided that he likes to roll over. Mostly he just rolls over once and then lays on his stomach and drools until he has a really good puddle. That's when the crying begins.

A few weeks ago, my mom and brother came up for a visit. Joe is always ready for a party, and usually has a cake waiting for us when we go to visit him. This time, we thought we'd return the favor and had a cake ready for him. It was pretty fun to ask the lady at the bakery to simply put "Joe" on the cake. She seemed a little confused. The kids decorated the house in streamers and made a sign on the door saying, "We Love Joe." Then they hid and yelled "Surprise !"when he came in. I don't know who was more excited about it.

Tommy had also come up for a few days, so of course the kids played outside as much as they could before they froze to death. Karina stomped her name in the snow in the backyard, and Bugsy kept whitewashing Tommy whenever he thought I was not looking...I did however, catch him on "film" this one time. Since she was very little, Karina has slept with my mom at night when we visit. This time, however, Bugsy joined them. It was really sweet to see since he does not usually do that kind of thing. Even Paulie, who hates everyone but his parents, loved spending time with Grandma. It was a great visit!

Hey-- I just have to say that I am SOOOOO glad you finally put more pictures up of all your kids! They are changing every day-- and so now that I see more recent ones, I just can't believe how grown-up they are all getting! A mohawk? Writing names in the snow? Whitewashing eachother? Oh magic. Trully- I think you're probably in the best stage of your family life--with everybody playing together etc... oh sigh. So exciting.
Also, I'm totally jealous of your "Joe" Party, and I hate hate hate that you refuse to relocate to OHio. Little P man, or whatever his name is is getting huge and WAY too cute... and I know he and Melvin would be the most bestest friends in the entire world right now. It kinda breaks my heart.
sniff sniff.... what a great update.
