The kids and I decided to make donuts the other day. I looked up a recipe online and was almost done with it when I realized it was missing a few things...like a leavening agent. Also, the dough was a bit like, well like soup really. So I got to work "fixing" my dough with a little yeast and a lot of flour. Or was it a little flour and a lot of yeast? Either way, what I ended up with was a TON of dough which would not stop rising.
I made a whole bunch of donuts and then put the dough in the fridge to slow down it's expansion. Needless to say, it was a no go. About an hour later, this is what I found. Eventually, we gave platefuls of donuts to pretty much everyone on our street. At least they were yummy!

Mmm...homemade donuts sound heavenly! Funny story! I wouldn't know the first thing on how to "fix" a recipe like that.
They were yummy--that's all that matters when you bake. Maybe you made one of those give it to your friends recipes where you were only supposed to keep a quarter of it and then give it away? Donuts--I've never made those and I love to bake myself!
You crack me up. I can only hope I make you laugh as much as you do to me. I want doughnuts so bad now. Thanks a lot! I LOVE the blueberry ones with the glaze.....Uh double up uh uh!
Excellent.
Hey, we buy the same milk.
Ummm...and where are our donuts? You must have tried to drop by and we were gone?
who got the donuts made from the dough scraped off the frig wall? :) Yummmmmmy... :) I'm with Lorren... how in the world would you "fix" a recipe like that?! Clearly you are a secret culinary master.
