The Flies Came UP

This is B in his famous pose he calls the "Knight Missionary."

Last night, we had Family Home Evening. B was in an especially chatty mood, and it seemed like he had something to say about literally everything. It was also his job to choose the songs for the evening. First, he chose what he calls, "The Wise Man and the Sand." The entire night was full of funny comments from B, but it all started with the chorus from this song. As we were singing, we heard B's version...

"The rains came down and the flies came up. The rains came down and the flies came up..." The rest of us, of course, were singing about the floods coming up.

Next he discussed the songs he wanted to sing at the close of FHE. Among his top choices was the song...."The Itchy, Itchy Spider."

When we asked what Jesus' mother's name was, B said, "Hosanna."

We read the story "The Three Trees" and then discussed the manger, cross, and the story when Jesus calmed the sea.

B was especially worried that if baby Jesus was laid in the manger, the animals would eat him.

When we saw pictures of Jesus standing in the boat calming the sea, B wondered why, "Jesus was a pirate."

To top it all off, B was asked to say the closing prayer. He has been saying some pretty interesting things lately, but his last few prayers have revolved around one person...each prayer a different person. Last night he picked K and in his prayer he was thankful for, "My sister K. I mean my sister Fancy Pants!! HAHAHA!"

Real reverent. Can't wait until next week.

I do love your stories. I can only hope my children are as imaginative as yours. And perhaps I shall try the KFC thing... it can't hurt, right? :)
