The First Three Hours

Ok everyone, I haven't posted in a while, but we went on a trip! So I have lots of pictures and tons to say. Keep reading, I am posting 4 posts today.

Can any of you believe that I am old enough to have a niece graduate from high school? I know, I know, me either. But nonetheless, it happened. This last weekend, my oldest niece, Chelsea, graduated from high school. My little family began the 412 hour trip to Colorado on Friday evening. We were taking all four children as well as little Jedi, so we expected a few delays. We did not, however, expect an urgent care visit within the first three hours of the trip.

While stopping at a gas station to let everyone pee, the kids were playing with an orange version of this water pump. Little B decided to turn the water on, and little T decided to stop him...by sticking his finger into the rear, top portion of this pump. Before anyone could stop it, someone pulled the handle and little T's sad index finger was hopelessly smashed and stuck. Vinny finally got it out but not before it was smashed to a pulp (literally) and the pad of his finger was torn off.

We threw the kids in the car and headed off to the Salt Lake City area. While we drove we used VZ Navigator to find all the Urgent Cares and finally found one that was open until 10 p.m. We made it there with three minutes to spare, got an x-ray, bandage, and splint and headed for a hotel at about midnight. By the time we all got into bed, it was nearly 1 a.m. and we had only gone 3 hours of our 9 hour trip. Yikes!
