I know that these pictures are a little fuzzy looking. No, I don't know why, but it probably involves little P and a whole lot of drool. But please try and peer through the haze because this graduation was something special!
First we have my two beautiful sisters, Britta and Leigh-Anne, basking in the hot sun on this lovely Colorado day.

All the graduates marched in, with the sun still shining, almost too bright for comfort.

All of a sudden, Kablam!! A minute of light rain, then a minute of heavy rain, then a minute of complete downpour, and finally HAIL! My poor family, we were a little less than prepared! Here are my brother Julian and nephew Justin, just as it started to get a little wet.

Finally they announced that we were moving into the gym which had seating for about half of those in attendance. As soon as they announced we were moving, my nephew Kyle jumped up and took off with four of my nieces and nephews. Thinking they should have a grown up, I ran after them. Kyle ignored the directions and walked us behind the bleachers, down a muddy hill, over a rusty fence, under the crust of the Earth, and Voila! There we were, at the front of the line.

We ran up to the top of the bleachers and quickly snagged two rows of seats and then began to watch for family members to trickle in. We turned out to be a few of the lucky ones who had a seat for the graduation. Even the poor graduates were left to sit on the ground. My neice Chelsea had a great attitude about it though. According to her, they have never had to move it inside before, she she felt like her class was pretty special!

Loving Britta's coy expression. You girls are so pretty!
What are the odds of a freak rain storm opening up just as the graduation starts? I find it a little funny that they didn't have an inclement weather plan... I love your writing style. You always crack me up! - "under the crust of the earth to the front of the line..."
My friend who lives in Smithfield (close to Logan)blogged about this same storm, I think. She talked about hail, destroyed gardens and 6 feet of water in basements! She also mentioned a person in their stake being hurt when when the deep water in his basement window well broke the window and caused him bodily harm. Scary stuff. Glad you were safe.
